Review: ‘Silenced’ by Dani Pettrey

Silenced (Alaskan Courage, #4)Silenced by Dani Pettrey

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book kept me up when I should have been asleep for hours! Of all of the Alaskan Courage books (so far) ‘Silenced’ is by far the most engrossing and suspenseful. The dynamic between Kayden McKenna and the mysterious Jake “Westin” Cavanaugh had me turning page after page. This book is also vastly different for author Dani Pettrey, who concurrently addresses two (you heard that right, kids) two separate crimes, to keep you guessing what exactly the hell is going on until the end. The main downside to this is that the first half of the book is spent focusing on one crime, which is solved rather quickly, and is then never mentioned again as the plot changes. By the time you’re done reading, the first part of the storyline is such a distant memory, you feel like it was in a different book. The two stories do seem completely separate from one another and little effort was made to blend them together. Overall, it was a thrilling read with more fun than flaws. If you want to stay up all night and get obsessed with a book that you end up reading in 48 hours, ‘Silenced’ is the book for you
–Happy Reading–
